Kind of out of left field question-

Would any of you be able to give me some book recs, specifically of the gay/lesbian variety? I've looked but all I can find is porn- not that porn isnt great :p I would just love to read some good fiction about same sex relationships. There's such a huge amount of great slash fiction online, there has to be some published...right?

I'm coming to you guys with pleas for book recs yet again. This time around, I want the books with the kind of language that makes u read one paragraph ten times over. For me it's always been 'The Picture of Dorian Grey' by Oscar Wilde. I remember reading that for the first time in year 11 and annoying my friend Jo by constantly reading out parts to her because I wanted everyone else to share my awe at how Wilde was OWNING the English language and making it do things that I had never seen before.

So what books have done that to you?

p.s Just finished the Glee finale. I cried just a little bit, that Journey medley was off the charts!

I went into the bookstore today and went straight for the fantasy/sci-fi section. I mostly looked at authors that I had already heard of or read some of their stuff before; this makes for about 16% of all reading materials, just in that one bookstore, that I am giving time to. What about the poor, neglected 84%?

Do u guys do that as well? Forego looking for new authors, new stories, new genres, in favour of the familiar?

I was an English major at university but there are so many classics that I have never read. Not to mention the millions more lesser known but still amazing books that I havent even heard of.

So I want you guys to give me some book recs please. Any genre, from any time, from any country-although I do need an English translation- anything obscure, anything that is so well known that you think 'come on, she must have read it'...
And tell me why! Why did you love it/hate it/read it?

Let's get interested in reading again! I hear so many times, 'I'm too busy to read these days'. We need to start making time and remember why reading was always one of the best things int the world! :)

I really should go to bed but instead I am exploring youtube. I'm obsessed with dance atm- largely due to SYTYCD Australia. This is along kind of the same veins. It is Travis and Ivan from s2 of the American series. They apparently went to the same dance studio before they both got into SYTYCD and this is a piece of improv that they did. Some of you may have seen it before, it's pretty old.
According to the note, this is completely improv. I dont know if I believe that but if it's true, then that is just masterful and perfect. Their talent is mind-blowing.

I hope this brings u guys the same kind of calm it does me :)
